Parish Clerk - Trevor Roff
Born in Bedford in 1957 and lived in the Village of Bromham for over 30 years with the family - a very understanding wife, Susan, two grown up children and 2 grandchildren.
A Chartered Institute of Public Finance & Accountancy (CIPFA) qualified Accountant, previously Director of Finance & Corporate Services at Bedford Borough Council (from 2009 to 2014) - with responsibility for a gross revenue expenditure of over £350 million and a significant capital investment programme - and formerly Operational Director (Regeneration & Economic Growth) responsible for the Borough Council’s land and property portfolio and for representing the Council in a wide range of projects, including significant regeneration projects in Bedford town centre, and engaging with a variety of external stakeholders with commercial, political and social interests. A local government career spanning almost 39 years required a resilient, adaptable and strategic leader of public services and the ability to respond to differing personalities, and different situations and, in doing so, the benefits of humour and time for tact, diplomacy and compromise, have been essential.
In addition, as a Parish Councillor with Bromham Parish Council for over 10 years (including Chairperson of the Finance and General Purpose Sub-Committee) and as Parish Clerk to Felmersham & Radwell Parish Council, this has provided a very good grounding in local administration and local issues. This has helped further develop a wide range of skills and the confidence to respond positively to challenges. The role of Parish Clerk enables a passion to exploit opportunities for the Village, offer something back to the community and retain a commitment to excellent public administration.
Currently, a partner of Regeneration Positive, providing regeneration consultancy. This involves liaison with planning and other stakeholders in respect of the scope for realising potential development opportunities, resolving project issues and navigating challenges posed.
